If Rocks could Talk

So, I have not written poetry in a while, so forgive me, I'm a little rusty. Earlier this evening of the 9th of March, 2012, a young friend said to me, "I have the imagination of a rock", meaning she had none. I don't know about you, but I'm one of those people who is 'too nice'. I can forgive and forget within 24 hours of being so furious with someone that I would strike them. So when this young lady said she had no imagination, I went about correcting her and reassuring her in the most direct way possible. I told her, "Rocks have plenty of imagination! They sit around all day doing physically nothing, so all they do is think and imagine!"

I don't think she believed me, so I wrote this little poem. Maybe it will get her imagination flowing, or yours.

Everyone, why don't you listen to these Talking Stones?

If you could talk to rocks, what would you talk about?

Good question. Probably ask their opinions on different things.

What about people? If you could ask one person, a person that is no longer in your life, what would you ask them?

Honestly, depends on the person. My Opa died when I was 3 years old, so if it were him, I'd probably ask him for advice.

From your answers, you seem like a very caring guy. and from the way you write, you write about love in you life.

I try to be. Like many though, I do joke around, and sometimes I go too far. Strangely, whereas in normal circumstances you'd think I would lose friends, my rotten luck lands me more. I can't get rid of these people, not that I'd want to.

As for my writing, I think you might be correct. I try not to study myself too much, as it leaves me very confused, but I think love is very important to me, and is a core part of who I am. But that's just a guess, feel free to look and decide for yourself.

You said that your luck lands you with more than just the lose of friends. What exactly do you mean?

Sorry, I should have explained it better.

I consider myself an introvert. I have very little social skills. I often make a fool of myself in company, and while it may look to others like it was done as a joke, it's often ignorance and not done to be funny, but I did it because I did not understand.

When I mess up, say I make an off-colour comment about someone, even if I meant it as a joke, it likely will piss someone off. I often have a couple people mad at me because I said something I shouldn't have, or I didn't say it right. But I've found that in many cases, people don't mind as much. They forgive me and we end up becoming closer, in most cases.

I hope that made some sense. Basically, I sometimes make people mad at me, but they don't stay mad. We often become better friends because of it. It's strange.

Well Good Luck with everything, and sorry.

I am just sorry. Please don't question it.
